Quatro Composites™ has extensive experience in the design and manufacturing of aerospace components. Applications range from composite drill coupons and shim stock to complex 3D brackets and aluminum to composite conversions. We provide our customers with design optimization, tooling, testing, qualified production manufacturing, and problem solving solutions necessary to achieve their goals.
Quatro Composites™ specializes in producing parts of complex geometry using qualified autoclave and out-of-autoclave processes in primary and secondary aircraft structures.
OptiPart™, Quatro's unique optimization process for composite structures, is a system and process for developing an optimized and manufacture-able composite structure. The system utilizes finite, element-based, material property driven, design tools to optimize structures based on load, design space, mounting points, and any other operational and manufacturing constraints. Using this process, a design can be tailored to maximize performance under specific load conditions all while working within manufacturing process constraints.
Designs are optimized for weight efficiency using finite element analysis (FEA). Optimization is achieved by tailoring ply orientation and sequencing, thicknesses, and part geometry. Design parameters are adjusted and iterated automatically over thousands of scenarios resulting in truly optimized geometry yielding up to 50% weight savings over comparable 7000 series aluminum parts.
By incorporating manufacturing process limitations early into the design cycle, manufacturing costs can be minimized while maximizing performance in the shortest product development time possible. For a metal to carbon conversion project, Quatro can deliver optimized carbon prototypes as fast as 3-4 weeks after receiving boundary conditions.
Solutions are available using continuous or discontinuous fibers in a wide variety of resin and fiber combinations. Materials that meet major aerospace standards for Fire, Smoke, and Toxicity (FST) requirements, are available.
Quatro Composites™ recognizes airplane manufacturers are making a radical shift from aluminum to carbon composite materials for primary structure, and much support is required to address the new techniques of drilling, fastening and bonding. Quatro supports the manufacturers of composite fuselage and wing skins by supplying carbon/epoxy panels that are built to the aircraft manufacturer's process specifications.
Quatro is qualified through Boeing BAC 5578 standards to produce certified large, laminated panels for your shim stock needs. Utilizing the latest in process control technology and a quality system based on AS9100 and NADCAP; our goal is to exceed specification requirements. We are committed to rapid deliveries, while maintaining high aerospace industry standards.
Quatro is qualified to produce carbon fiber and glass shim stock, as well as certified and uncertified cured panels for drill coupons. Please contact us for pricing. |
